CHESS MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to:

Provide the opportunity for past students to either stay in touch or re-establish contact with old school friends.

Keep ex-students informed about what's currently happening at their old school.

To establish and maintain a new database in liaison with MHSOBA (Melbourne High School Old Boys' Association) for reunion purposes.

To regularly meet with the Principal and Associate Principals on a regular basis.

To have a member on CHS School Council for us to provide input and also keep the CHESS Committee appraised of school events.

Provide material and moral support to the school community.

Organise decade reunions on a rotating basis.

Facilitate Year reunions by individual past students who need help locating past students.

Print the CHESSMOVES newsletter three times a year.

Ensure the protection of valuable archival material.

Keep the school song alive.

Enable current students to draw on a deep and broad vocational and career advisory resource.

Attend CHS Valedictory Nights and fund/present the CHESS Award.

Meet with Year 12 exiting students at a function and speak to them about the advantages of joining CHESS.

Provide past students with an opportunity to network for personal or business advantage.
